Training outcome !

The grand finale of the engineer’s training course, the end-of-studies internship offers the student the opportunity to use all the skills they have acquired, at the services of a concrete project.

Teaching goals

On completion of the third year, the end-of-studies project allows the students to put the finishing touches to their training and apply all their knowledge to conduct and accomplish an engineering project.

The intern’s work results in the production of a deliverable for the company, and sometimes serves as a trial period for a future recruitment.

The assignment may concern the following areas of competence :

  • Materials.
  • Production systems engineering.
  • Microsystems for health applications.
  • Process engineering.
  • Innovation engineering.
  • Mechanics.
  • Energy and transport.
  • Mechatronics.
  • Microtechnology.

The students' skills

For the end-of-studies project, the students have to implement a broad range of skills. They are capable of defining and analysing a problem and its context, proposing an action schedule, putting a project team in place or fitting into an existing working group, conducting and accomplishing actions, arriving at factual results, analysing these results and measuring the developments still to be accomplished. For example:

  • Study of a vehicle’s behaviour in the case of a lateral impact, in a mass reduction context.
  • Recuperation of non-linear energy.
  • Opto-mechatronic interface for viewing contents in real 3D and augmented reality 3D.
  • Railway diagnosis and prognosis:  Development of a predictive alarm system and preparation of a prognosis system on doors and air conditioning units.
  • Development of a horological complication.
